Biography
Hermione Granger was born on the eve of September 19, 1980 to Muggle parents. [They are dentists.] For ten years, she lived her life as a Muggle girl [albeit a very clever one], completely unknowing of wizards and magic. One day, she received an owl announcing her acceptance into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry [the finest wizarding school in the UK], and since then Hermione has learned all she could about Hogwarts and the wizarding world.

Unfortunately, her first month or so at Hogwarts was lonely. Hermione was much too eager to show off her knowledge of various subjects [covering up an insecurity and all], and as a result, had alienated herself from the other students. Luckily, her solitude ended on October 31st, 1991 [aka The Halloween Where She Lived] when she was saved from a mountain troll by Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley. Since then, Hermione became the third of the infamous Trio, and followed the boys closely through their years at Hogwarts.

Over the years, her insecurity vanished [for the most part] as she settled into Prefecture and eventually the role of Head Girl. Her social life also became active, mostly focusing around Harry, Ron, Ginny, [and the rest of the Weasleys] but occasionally Neville and Luna as well. In fourth year, Hermione began a civil movement for house elves, S.P.E.W., [but there was very little interest] and the year after, urged Harry to begin DA, the then undercover student's group to learn DADA. These events, also with her own initiative to solve problems [Basilisk anyone?], produced a bright, pro-active, and mature young lady at the end of those seven years at Hogwarts.

Upon completion of her education, Hermione immediately sought to set social reform through S.P.E.W. and other groups to eliminate prejudice from wizarding society. She turned down all recommendations to further her education through Auror training and now spends her days working a small office job at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures where she rampantly fights for the proper treatment of house elves and other magical creatures.

Personality
Hermione is an educated mature and sophisticated young lady. Her ease with spells imply a natural inclination for etymology [and indeed she did study a bit of Latin in her free time] and a quick adaptable mind. Her advice also point to an observant character, and her bossy attitude shows an impatience with idiocy [or Ron mostly]. Though not overly social, she is friendly and has quite a few acquaintances. Her close friends, however, remain as Harry, Ron, and Ginny; it is difficult for her to reach out emotionally to anyone beyond those three [except for her parents, of course].

The main stressors in her life are inability and injustice. Her introduction into the wizarding world produced an insecurity [accented by labels such as Mudblood] that she would never fully be accepted. Her ambitions began as an overcompensation for her insecurity; however, soon enough, it was very apparent that despite that she was born into a Muggle family, she was easily the brightest witch of her generation.

Stemming from the prejudgement in her early years at Hogwarts came a need to erase prejudice from wizarding society. Throughout her years at Hogwarts, Hermione defended those who were wrongly accused or treated. Her own personal battle with bloodline was won at Hogwarts, but still continues in the Ministry today. Hermione defended Buckbeak when the creature was sentenced to death, and in her fourth year, she began S.P.E.W., which became the center of her ambitions in her later years.

Physical Description
Hermione had grown into herself, having shed her girlish features quite a while ago [except for her height] and developed a mature womanly look about her. Those long nights studying had finally weakened her eyes, and now Hermione sometimes sports a pair of light black frames when working in dim light.

Her bushy hair shall remain forever bushy unfortunately; to ease the troublesome hair, she wears the occasional clip in the back or ties it back tightly in a bun [a la McGonagall].
